Description
A nearly complete collection of Sony PlayStation 2 NTSC-US release, both CD and DVD dumps. Folder structure on the drive is set up for use with OPL and FreeMcBoot. (Look for games in both the CD and DVD folders; view the directory list here.)
6TB – Includes PS2 releases only and has a bit under 1TB of space to expand.
8TB – Includes PS2 releases as well as the PS1 US set as a bonus in the extra space.
(PS1 cannot be run directly off this drive and will need to be copied off! See NOTE below!)
Major update and cleanup! We’ve gone through every file name and processed it through OPL Manager to make sure they’re all valid and ready to go. Tested and working with the new OPL with exFAT support! Drives over 2TB can now run on your PS2. These drives are formatted to exFAT and contain the complete US release library ready to play! (Plus 50+ English translation patches for JP titles!) Tested on FMBC 1.966 memory cards with the Open PS2 Loader v1.2.0.6-1996-Beta!
To use this drive in your fat model PS2s (with internal 3.5″ HDD) a SATA Network Adapter and a FreeMcBoot Memory Card is required. They are about all just the same GameStar stamped adapter sold under a dozen different Chinese vendor brands.
While most of the Chinese 64MB premade FMBC Memory Cards sold on eBay and Amazon will work just fine, the version of OPL on the card must be updated! This is a fairly simple process where you need to download the new OPL onto a USB thumb drive then copy it over using the LaunchELF browser on the FMBC card. Blaine Locklair has some fantastic tutorials on YouTube about the process. (As well as easy to follow walkthroughs of other system mods and jailbreak procedures.)
Still not comfortable doing the update? We have pre-configured cards now ready to go. These FMCB cards are set up on official (used) 8MB Sony PS2 memory cards, and are available for a small additional fee upon checking out.
NOTE that while OPL has been released in a new version with exFAT support, almost every other app, emulator, and launcher has been abandoned and hasn’t been in development for years. Running an internal drive larger than 2TB (FAT32) means that other emulators, and PS1 games, cannot be stored or launched from these drives! A trade-off to be made to have the complete PS2 catalog in once place. You can still keep your PS1 and other emulator ROMs on a USB thumb drive, however. This may change in the future if any new devs take over these older projects!
