We’ve spent many hours to offer the most intact, complete collection, hunting down every last missing title from multiple different archive sites to put together into this one collection. Every disc is decrypted and uncompressed into .APP format and are ready to install on your Wii U using an app like WUP Installer.
To use one will require a jailbroken Wii U console (Tiramisu or Aroma will both work), and some additional external storage device for the Wii U console to install the games onto as internal storage is fairly limited.
One will also require a FAT32 formatted SD/MicroSD with your jailbreak files and homebrew apps. To install games they must be copied onto the SD, then installed onto your storage device. We recommend doing your jailbreak on at least a 128GB or 256GB MicroSD so you have lots of room to ferry multiple discs at once from your PC to your Wii U.
A 2TB external HDD or SSD will work for storage, though you may require an added y-cable for power if using a HDD. (An SSD uses less power and will not need the splitter.) If you want to build out a console with every single game available at the same time 2TB is sufficiently large to install every Wii-U game at the same time.
After copying off the files on this drive to your PC one can repurpose this drive as the new external storage drive for the Wii-U. (Again just back it up first! Plugging it in will format it!) A 2TB SSD offers no speed benefits, but some may desire it due to no moving parts; usually a bit smaller and far less chance of damage if it tips off a bookshelf. (We can also copy this set to the solid state drive of your choice upon request for just the additional price difference of the drive; contact us to make a custom request!)
I would personally recommend a small form factor USB drive such as this one that can just live in the front port of the console and a smaller selection of games on demand. The Wii U has a maximum number of 300 slots on the menu; with 177 discs and 900 eStore titles, you can’t have them all installed at the same time anyway! A tiny 256GB or 512GB USB drive nearly disappears in the front slot, and can still hold a huge number of titles!
We also offer this archive in WUX format. WUX is a highly compressed archive format of WUD which strips the empty space out of the disc. WUD is an exact dump with this blank space intact, thus each WUD comes in at 25GB. (In WUX format games range from 22GB down to as small as just 700K.) WUX can easily be converted to WUD with a simple drag-and-drop decompression tool, which is included. (Windows only.) WUX/WUD can be used in emulators like Cemu, but can’t be installed onto a Wii U without decrypting each disk back into APP.
A 4TB HDD will include both the APP and WUX versions of all discs.
